Metamorphic rock

Good insulator of heat and electricity

water absorption → 0.5 – 1%

colour → dark grey, reddish, blues black

Crushing strength → 240 – 360 kg/cm2

Use → water proofing, electrical boards

◆Quartzite◆

Metamorphic rock

Crushing strength → 750 kg/cm2

Water absorption → 4%

Difficult to weather and dress

Specific gratuity → 2.65
Use → aggregate of conc., paving martial
